Gregory Phillips architects have a broad range of experience refurbishing many types of existing properties from large individual dwellings to apartments. Our experience also extends to refurbishment of listed buildings and obtaining Landlord’s permissions in the form of licences to alter. We have completed many conservation and heritage building projects successfully and harmoniously integrating new architectural technologies and features into the original fabric of the building.
Our clients come to us where their homes are in need of modernisation or to alter the layout to suit particular needs. Taking account of our client’s lifestyles and brief we develop design proposals to rationalise layouts and create more light and efficient space within existing footprints to suit a more modern way of living. Often this includes open plan kitchen, living, dining spaces and built in storage throughout.
The work necessary to update properties varies, depending on our client’s needs, wishes and budget. We have designed projects with ‘a light touch’ of minimal structural intervention to full refurbishment and structural remodelling in order to completely alter the internal arrangement. Where little alteration to the layout is proposed, we work with the existing arrangement, incorporating innovative design solutions and a considered material palette to modernise and update the interiors. More significant structural alterations can open up more possibilities depending on the requirements of the brief and budget.
