Knightsbridge

We were approached to renovate this Mansion block apartment in Knightsbridge, on the edge of Hyde Park. The interior needed refurbishment and the client had been in conversation with a prestigious furniture maker who suggested we could look at creating a design for them that would work harmoniously with their furniture. Consequently, the furniture to be used was considered from the very beginning and the logistics of getting this into the apartment required careful consideration and coordination.

A simple calm palette of dark textured oak in the living spaces, slightly lighter oak in the bedrooms and luxurious marble to the bathrooms was chosen to echo and compliment the materiality of the furniture.

A wide oak flooring is used throughout and continues into the communal hallway to improve the flow between the rooms. The kitchen is carefully designed to create a functional but calm and luxurious space.

The client’s very specific requirements were incorporated into the design. A humidor is integrated into the joinery in the living room while other notable feature includes a sofa built into the bay window which, via an automated pneumatic system, can be raised up so that the view across Hyde Park can be viewed from both a lying and sitting position.

We were responsible for implementation of all aspects of the project including lighting design, audio visual design, and furniture and fixtures procurement and oversaw the construction and assembly of work on site.
