Sevenoaks – Interiors

Background

Introducing this property in Sevenoaks, Kent – a total refurbishment and interior design to this Grade II Listed building. To bring light into the property and create a seamless connection between the interior and exterior, we also added a ‘glass box’ kitchen extension, which allowed light to flood the property and we also carried out works to remodel the external swimming pool area and adjacent landscaping.

The brief

The brief was to create a glamorous luxurious house within the existing listed buildings. The scope includes all aspects of the interior, all finishes, new staircase designs, fittings and built-in furniture as well as the kitchen design, bathroom designs, cabinets, wardrobes, desks, wall cladding and fireplaces.

All new services, lighting, integrated audiovisual, security and lighting control systems as well as external landscaping were included in our remit working with specialist suppliers.

What we did

By reconfiguring the Ground Floor plan and adding a contemporary glazed extension housing the new kitchen, the property now provides the family with an arrangement suited to open-plan living, while maximising views of the idyllic rural setting from the rooms they spend the most time in.

The modern kitchen extension forms a link between the old Georgian farmhouse and the existing 500-year-old barn which was previously an isolated space and largely unused.

The transition and relationship between interior and exterior spaces have been carefully considered. The refurbishment of the existing house included the renewal of all mechanical and electrical services as well as alterations to the layout to maximise natural light and rationalise the plan.

The internal swimming pool and spa area were redesigned with elegant timber panelling. Internally, the beautiful space was finished to an exemplary standard using bespoke, high-quality finishes and extraordinary craftsmanship.

Specified by Gregory Phillips, we added finishing touches with new furniture, rugs, lighting, curtains and blinds.

Outcomes

The palette of materials and detailing creates a contemporary aesthetic that works alongside and complements the traditional character of the property.

The house is a fantastic example of creating sophisticated luxury interiors within an existing listed historic building and we are delighted with the outcome as are the owners.
