Interior Design Hampstead
Background
A total refurbishment and extension of an existing property in Hampstead, West London, to create substantial 850m2 sophisticated luxurious fully functional family home. The project included the construction of two floors of basement excavation as well as a total house renovation.
The brief
The brief was to create a glamorous contemporary luxurious house. The scope including all aspects of the interior, all finishes, new staircase designs, fittings and built in furniture as well as the kitchen design, bathroom designs, cabinets, wardrobes, desks as well as wall cladding and fireplaces..
The air conditioning and all new services, lighting, integrated the audio visual, security and lighting control systems as well as external landscaping were included in our remit working with specialist suppliers.
What we did
The design intent was to reinstate the original form of the existing house, clearly defining old and new. Demolishing the two storey extension and replacing it with a single storey ground floor extension, with basement beneath, greatly reduced the bulk and form of the property to the rear.
By removing the extension, together with a bay window from the main reception room (both non-original), the rear elevation of the property is reinstated close to how it would originally have appeared. The house has been cleverly designed and considerate of its Conservation Area surroundings.
The basement construction and additions are distinctly contemporary in appearance yet remain subservient to the existing property.
Internally, the beautiful space were finished to an exemplary standard using bespoke finishes in every room, including dark stained oak and walnut timbers, bronze metal, marble and slate.
All items of the interiors are bespoke using the highest quality finishes and extraordinary craftsmanship.
Outcomes
The house is a fantastic example of creating sophisticated contemporary luxury interiors within an existing building.
